Just in time for the Christmas present season, we’ve added new digital gift-cards, available to any value (we’ve some fixed amounts, but you can load a ‘card’ with any amount you wish).
The ‘cards’ are e-mailed to your recipient – or enter your own e-mail if you wish to receive the gift e-mail yourself for printing and giving as a physical present. Either click a link or enter the unique 16 digit gift code on the check-out page to credit an account with the full value.
The gift card value does NOT have to be used all at once, our website stores any remaining credit for using later, and can be checked on the ‘my account’ page as long as the recipient registers an account on their first visit. It’s a simple way to buy someone a short or long ‘subscription’ to a magazine for example.
As someone who has visited or purchased magazines from our Mags Direct online newsagent website, we’d like you to share your thoughts so we can continue to improve our service.
As we know time is precious, we’d like to reward five of our most helpful customers with a £10 voucher. We will randomly select the winners from all of those who complete our short survey.
ENTRIES NOW CLOSED – THANKS TO ALL WHO ANSWERED OUR SURVEY!
Following on from our partnership with Haymarket Publishing who produce fantastic programmes for many official sporting events and teams (including the FA Cup programme), we are very pleased to announce we will be receiving stock of the programme for the coming Natwest T20 Blast finals at Edgbaston.
We now know the four semi-finalists who will duke it out on Finals Day;
The Notts Outlaws booked their place with a crushing win over the Essex Eagles, while the Northants Steelbacks dominated Middlesex to book their place at Edgbaston.
There was an upset as Durham Jets turned over Gloucestershire, who topped the South Group, while Yorkshire Vikings being the last team to progress after defeating Glamorgan, to make it an all North Group Finals Day.
Finals Day takes place on the August 20th, in front of a sold out Edgbaston crowd.
If you cannot make the day, we are the only official suppliers of the programme, and you can order your copy from us now! We will be posting them out after the finals weekend, due to them only being printed just before the event!
Here is the semi-final draw:
Notts Outlaws v Northants Steelbacks 1100 BST
Durham Jets v Yorkshire Vikings 1430 BST
Notts Outlaws v Northants Steelbacks
Notts Outlaws have never lost a game to Northants Steelbacks and they are currently 4 from 4 in the form book. This is the third time the Notts Outlaws have qualified for Finals Day, although they have lost out in both previous attempts to Leicestershire Foxes and Somerset.
The Steelbacks have now qualified for the Finals Day three times in the last four seasons. Previously, they qualified in 2013 and 2015.
The Steelbacks won their last two semi-finals in the NatWest T20 Blast and both times they did so chasing. Notts Outlaws have nine wins on the trot ahead of the semi-final. On the other hand, Northants have seen defeat in four out of their last six games.
Durham Jets v Yorkshire Vikings
In the matches between Durham Jets and Yorkshire Vikings, each team has won an alternate fixture in the last six games. The most recent encounter was won by Yorkshire Vikings. Between 2005 and 2007, Yorkshire Vikings won five games in a row against Durham Jets. However, since then they have failed to record back-to-back wins.
Durham Jets have reached Finals Day for the second time. Previously, in 2008, they lost to Middlesex in the semi-final. Similarly, Yorkshire Vikings have also reached the semi-finals for the second time. The last time, they lost to Hampshire in the final. Ten out of the last 11 games involving Yorkshire has seen the side batting first win.
Out of these games, Yorkshire Vikings have won eight games. At Edgbaston, Yorkshire have lost both of their T20 matches. Similarly, Durham have seen defeat in three out of their four games at this venue.

Mags Direct are proud to be able to sponsor one of its own staff, ‘Loz’ Hoefling, as he drives around Europe in a 10 country, 2,500 mile, 4 day rally in cars bought for less than £500 – hense the “rust bucket” aspect. Although looking at the BMW Loz has got for the event, we’re not 100% that’s an apt description!
This adventure is all in aid of a charity called ‘Ups n Downs’ who support children with Downs Syndrome in Northamptonshire, one of them being Loz’s own little brother Charlie.
Loz is our finance man, so he’s good with numbers – hopefully that will be a skill needed as he counts up the sponsorship money!
If you would like to support this worthy cause, you can of course donate using this link – http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/LaurenceHoefling.

Are you ready for the most exciting tournament since 1958? We certainly are.
With the premier league won in a historical “never to be repeated” win by 5000-1 outsiders Leicester, British footy fans are starting to think about the upcoming Euro 2016 finals.
The British Isles will be represented by not one, not two, not three but four nations at Euro 2016 – the first time that has happened at a major tournament for fully 58 years. We’re determined to celebrate that fact, and in this month’s 442 magazine they have exclusive interviews with key men from each of those four countries.
In fact this month you’ll get two magazines in one bag. Not only will you be able to read England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland previews as part of your normal monthly fix of features in the main magazine, but you’ll also get an additional 68-page Euro 2016 guide – including interviews with stars from all 24 nations at the tournament.
England go into the tournament full of optimism and we speak to Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane, Ross Barkley and Raheem Sterling to find out why it’s time for fans of the Three Lions to start dreaming big.
To celebrate the four nations qualifying, FourFourTwo magazine has commissioned four different covers for the Euro 2016 special preview issue, featuring a 68-page preview guide. We have all four in stock, you pick which one(s) you want and we’ll post them to you same day for free!
One of the ultimate challenges in sport, the US Masters, has started, and several UK golfers have put themselves in a good position after day 1. In the UK, the whole tournament is be shown live on Sky Sports 1HD, from April 7th-10th.
1. Jordan Spieth (-6): With his bogey-free 66, Speith became the first player in Masters history to the hold the outright lead in five consecutive rounds (including his 2015 wire-to-wire win) and became the first defending champion since Jack Nicklaus (1966) to hold the first-round lead. What we’re witnessing is remarkable. It’s Jordan’s course and Jordan’s tournament until proven otherwise.
T2. Danny Lee (-4): After a bogey on No. 7, Lee locked in and recorded four birdies on the next nine holes to finish just two strokes off the lead. Lee is in a good spot, teeing off at 9:26 a.m. ET on Friday.
T2: Shane Lowry (-4): Lowry was near the top of the leaderboard all afternoon after a hot start, so there’s as much focus on the opportunities missed (no birdies and one bogey on the final 10 holes) as the fact he’s done well enough to be two shots off the lead at the Masters.
T4. Paul Casey, Justin Rose, Ian Poulter, Soren Kjeldsen, Sergio Garcia (-3): Casey will be back with Spieth on Friday for what should be the most-watched group of the day. The rest of the group will be interesting to track as conditions continue and just a few good or bad holes will slide them quickly into or out of contention. Rose, the runner-up a year ago, had the ball rolling well and carded six birdies, so I’d make him the most likely threat to Spieth out of this crowded crew.
